Upcoming events, walks and items of interest!
Below is a list of all walks up until the end of June 2011 that are being organised
by the Malvern Hill District Footpath Society. They were formed in 1973 ‘To promote
the enjoyment and preservation of all Rights of Way and to foster an understanding
of their place in the countryside’. Are the walks suitable for you? In their own

Wednesday 02: Upwards & Westward
Meet Imperial Road for 09.15 departure. A moderate 5 mile walk on the west side of the Hills, via Worcester Beacon then back via the Kettle Sings.

Saturday 05: The Last Boundary Walk No.30
Meet Imperial Road for 09.00 departure. An easy circular 10 mile walk via Twyning and along the banks of the Rivers Avon and Severn with good but distant views of Tewkesbury Abbey; Bring packed lunch.

Thursday 10: Leisure Walk – Guarlford
Meet Imperial Road for 09.15 departure to an easy 4 mile walk (with one hill).

Saturday 12: Kerne Bridge
Meet Imperial Road for 08.30 departure. A 12 mile moderate/hilly walk with some steep, possibly slippery descents to Ruardean, Lower Lydbrook and back along the River Wye. Bring packed lunch.

Wednesday 16: Historic Callow End
Meet Imperial Road for 09.30 departure for an easy 4/5 miles via the Old Hills and Deblins Green.

Saturday 19: Adopted Walk 22: Thornbury, Kyrebatch & Fencote
Meet Imperial Road 09:45 departure. A moderate 8.5 miles incl. a visit to the restored Fencote railway station for afternoon tea.

Tuesday 22:
Meet Imperial Road for 09:30 departure, an easy 5 mile walk through Park Wood with the tidied up limekilns on Brockhill Road. Back via the Downs school. Lunch may be had at the Brewers Arms.

Saturday 26: Monkwood
Meet Imperial Road for 09:00 departure. The walk is an easy/moderate 9 mile walk through woodland, fields and orchards and over 20 stiles; bring packed lunch and wet weather gear.

Depart Imperial Road at 09:45 for an easy/moderate 4.5 mile walk over Oyster Hill.

Saturday 03: Two Adopted Walks (29 and 40)
Depart Imperial Road at 09:00 for a 10.5 mile easy, mainly flat walk across fields and farmland on Madresfield Estate to Deblins Green, Callow End, passing by Stanbrook Abbey and River Severn. Return via Pixham Ferry Lane and Old Hills. Bring a packed lunch.
